Jim Herpst graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Business and entered the field of Computer Software in 1980.  As exciting as the High Tech Industry can be, Jim was drawn to building as a means of utilizing his creativity, resources and a sincere desire to provide lasting, tangible services to others.  He founded Palmetto Bay Builders in 1999, with a solid focus on commitment to the highest standards. He is an active member of:

• Business Improvement Group of the Greater Midlands
• Homebuilders Assocation of Greater Columbia
• Columbia Remodelers Assocation

Jim enjoys spending time with his wife of 28 years and catching up with his son, who is currently enrolled at USC.  He is a private pilot and enjoys flying his vintage aircraft, is a member of the EAA National Association and local chapters 242 and 1467 and serves on the advisory board to the Lexington County Airport.   He is a member of St Stephens Lutheran Church in Lexington, where he served multiple years on the Stewardship committee and chair.
